The seminars & workshops that we offer for our members are educational. The seminars/workshops are free to all of our members and we provide lunch as well. In these workshops, the Chamber's goal is to provide our members with better tools to succeed in their business. In January, the seminar was: "A Guide to Financing and Taxes of Starting a New Business." Next week (Feb 7th) our seminar will be: "Preparing your 2006 Taxes."
As far as partnerships: The chamber has partnered up with University of Texas Pan American Small Business Management to provide valuable information through consultative means to those in the community that are looking to opening up their own business.
Business Counseling involves UTPA Small Business Management Staff that meets once a week with potential entrepreneurs to assist them with their plans of opening up their own business. Services include assistance in preparing a Business Plan, Financial Projections, Financing resources, and implementation of their plans. They have appointments every Thursday and meet the Chamber's Boardroom.
