Education

Education

The Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce offers workshops and seminars in collaboration with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, South Texas College. These efforts are designed to share knowledge about the latest trends in the professional world. Chamber members who are experts in their fields are invited to participate during these events. Topics are selected each year based on emerging trends and will focus on subjects related to professional and personal growth.

Networking opportunities

Networking Opportunities

The Chamber promotes business strategic networking through power mixers and special events.

Each year, the chamber recognizes business awards. Active members of the chamber have the opportunity to submit a nomination for each category. The awardees are celebrated in October to kick-off another successful year.

All nominees must be an active business, be a member in good standing with the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce and must have been in business for at least 3 years. Nominations are reviewed and selected by the nominating committee.

Annual Member Award Categories:

  1. Business of the Year | a business who has demonstrated economic growth, community involvement, generosity, implementation of leading industry trends, and/or encouraging positive business practices.
  2. Business Leader of the Year | a business owner/partner/major stakeholder, who has demonstrated significant business achievements, leadership, community involvement and/or development.
  3. Community Impact Award | a non-profit organization operating in the Rio Grande Valley that has demonstrated outstanding contributions to the community and shown evidence of a positive community impact.
