Buenas Tardes Luncheons

The Buenas Tardes Luncheon is a prominent event that brings together a distinguished panel of community leaders to engage in crucial discussions surrounding workforce readiness and development. This annual gathering serves as a platform for insightful conversations on pertinent issues shaping our community's future.

With a commitment to fostering dialogue and collaboration, the GMCC hosts two BTLs per year: the Community Leader Spotlight, which highlights exemplary individuals driving positive change, and the State of Education, where experts explore the current landscape and future directions of education. These gatherings play a vital role in advancing collective efforts towards building a more prosperous and sustainable society.

Mission Citrus Golf Classic

The Mission Citrus Golf Classic, hosted annually by the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce, is a celebrated event occurring every first Friday of May. This prestigious tournament combines the thrill of golf with a noble cause: raising proceeds for the students of Mission CISD. As golfers come together against the backdrop of Mission's scenic beauty, they contribute to the educational advancement of local youth. Through partnerships and volunteer efforts, the event channels its proceeds to enrich the academic experiences of Mission CISD students, embodying a commitment to community and education.

Annual Member Awards Banquet

Every October, the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce orchestrates the Annual Member Awards. This distinguished event shines a spotlight on outstanding businesses and community leaders who exemplify excellence and commitment within the Mission community. The awards recognize exemplary achievements across three prestigious categories:

  • Business of the Year: Recognizing businesses for economic growth, community involvement, and industry innovation.
  • Business Leader of the Year: Honoring individuals for outstanding leadership, business achievements, and community engagement.
  • Community Impact Award: Commending non-profit organizations for their positive contributions and community impact in the Rio Grande Valley.

Annual Mission Community Health & Wellness Fair

Held every December, the Annual Mission Community Health & Wellness Fair, a collaborative effort between the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce and Mission Regional Medical Center, is a beacon of health and vitality in the Mission community. Held annually, this event offers a plethora of essential health services to attendees, completely free of charge. From comprehensive blood exams to vital health screenings and beyond, the fair provides invaluable resources aimed at promoting wellness and preventative care. By opening its doors to all members of the community, regardless of financial status, the fair embodies the Chamber's commitment to enhancing the overall health and well-being of Mission residents. This collaborative endeavor not only fosters a culture of proactive health management but also strengthens community bonds through shared access to vital healthcare resources.

Winter Texan Fiesta

The Winter Texan Fiesta, an outdoor concert-style event hosted by the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce every year, is a heartfelt "thank you" to Winter Texan visitors. Held annually in March, this cherished festival is a highlight on the Mission, Texas calendar. Attendees can enjoy free food for the first 1000 guests, browse through local vendors' offerings, and groove to the tunes of local entertainers. With its vibrant atmosphere and abundance of fun, the Winter Texan Fiesta has become a staple in the city of Mission, bringing joy to residents and visitors alike.
